Music for film is not decoration. It is the emotional truth underneath the image — the thing that tells the audience how to feel before they know why. Martin Villiger has spent 25 years finding that truth for directors.
Martin Villiger is a film composer and musician based in Zurich. He founded his studio Visual Music in 2000 and has since worked with directors and producers on feature films, documentary series, broadcast productions and advertising campaigns across Europe and beyond.
He started at the piano at seven, bought his first synthesizer at sixteen and used it immediately to write music for films. Today he works in Dolby Atmos and composes across the full spectrum — from intimate acoustic scores to large orchestral and hybrid productions.
An archive of more than 2,000 of his pieces lives in the internal library of Swiss television.
